True Lemon Maryland Crab Cakes

Ingredients

  • 1 lb

    lump crab meat, fresh or canned

  • 1 c

    bread crumbs

  • 1 tbsp

    dried parsley (or 2 tablespoons fresh chopped parsley)

  • 1

    egg

  • 1 tbsp

    mayonnaise

  • 1 tsp

    brown mustard

  • 1/2 to 1 teaspoon of Old Bay seasoning (depending on how spicy you want it)

Directions

  1. In a bowl gently combine crab meat, bread crumbs, and parsley.
  2. In a separate bowl, mix egg with the remaining ingredients.
  3. Carefully combine the two bowls and blend together so that the mixture can be packed into crab cakes. Try not to break-up the crab meat too much when mixing.
  4. Broil the crab cakes for 10-minutes on each side, or fry in oil on the stove for about 5-minutes each side.
